The Harford Regular Black Border Coir Doormat gives the front door a smart, composed finish with its warm natural fibres and crisp dark edging. The simple bordered design has a timeless quality that works comfortably with traditional, Hamptons, country and contemporary entrances. Substantial without feeling fussy, it creates a welcoming first impression while keeping the focus on the character of your doorway and surrounding architecture.

At 75cm long and 45cm wide, the Harford is proportioned for a regular doorway and provides generous space for arriving guests to wipe their shoes. Its approximately 5cm thickness creates a luxurious, weighty presence at the entrance. Style it against painted weatherboards, stone, brick or wood, where the black border offers a strong visual frame. Matching large and long versions are also available when you would like to carry the same classic look across wider doors or several entrances around the home.

Handwoven by artisans from 100% natural coir, this doormat makes practical use of the firm fibres found around the outer husk of coconuts. Their naturally coarse texture provides excellent shoe-scraping performance, helping to remove everyday dirt before it travels indoors, while the fibres also offer useful moisture absorbency. Fade-resistant dye penetrates the tops of the fibres to create the distinctive border and support lasting good looks. Position the mat in a sheltered entrance, shake or brush it regularly and allow it to dry promptly if it becomes wet. Natural shedding and slight variations in texture, colour and appearance are expected characteristics of handcrafted coir, giving each mat an individual finish.

About Coir

Coir is a natural fibre obtained from the outer husk of coconuts. Its firm, coarse texture gives it excellent shoe-scraping properties, making it a practical material for entrance mats.

Coir Doormat Care

Position the doormat in a sheltered entrance and protect it from excessive moisture.
If the mat becomes wet, dry promptly and thoroughly.
Regularly shake or brush away loose dirt and naturally shed fibres.
Protect the coir fibres from scratching by pets and birds, as this can cause damage and excessive shedding.
