The Black Gingham Doormat brings a contemporary edge to a classic country pattern, combining black and grey checks with the warm texture of natural coir. Its familiar gingham design feels welcoming and relaxed while the restrained palette keeps the look smart and versatile. Place it at the entrance to introduce pattern without competing with the colours and architectural details around your doorway.

Measuring 75 cm long and 45 cm wide, this regular-sized mat provides a practical fit for many single doorways. The substantial 4 cm depth and coarse woven surface give it a satisfying presence underfoot, while the natural coconut fibres have excellent shoe-scraping properties. Style it with black door hardware, charcoal planters or warm wooden accents for a coordinated entrance. Its checked pattern also complements country, farmhouse and modern monochrome homes, making it easy to carry the character of your interior through to the front door.

Made from 100% coir, the mat is woven from fibres obtained from the outer husk of coconuts. Colour dye penetrates deeply into the fibres to create the black and grey gingham finish. Because this is a handcrafted product made from natural fibres, small variations in colour, texture and appearance are part of its individual character. Position the mat in a sheltered entrance and protect it from excessive moisture to help preserve its shape and finish. Regularly shaking or brushing away dirt and naturally shed fibres will keep the checked design looking its best.

About Coir

Coir is a natural fibre obtained from the outer husk of coconuts. Its firm, coarse texture gives it excellent shoe-scraping properties, making it a practical material for entrance mats.

Coir Doormat Care

Position the doormat in a sheltered entrance and protect it from excessive moisture.
If the mat becomes wet, dry promptly and thoroughly.
Regularly shake or brush away loose dirt and naturally shed fibres.
Protect the coir fibres from scratching by pets and birds, as this can cause damage and excessive shedding.
