Create a smart, welcoming threshold with the Harford Large Black Border Coir Doormat. Its warm natural coir surface is framed by a strong black border, giving the simple design a crisp, tailored finish. The restrained palette works easily with traditional, contemporary and country entrances, complementing everything from painted doors and brick walls to stone paving and wooden decking. Generously sized without unnecessary ornament, it brings a polished sense of order to the doorway while keeping the natural texture of coir firmly in view.

Measuring approximately 93cm long by 67cm wide, this large doormat offers broader coverage than a regular entrance mat and is particularly well suited to substantial front doors or wider entry areas. Its 4cm thickness gives it a pleasingly solid presence, while the coarse coir fibres provide excellent scraping properties for brushing loose dirt from footwear before it reaches the floor inside. Position it in a sheltered entrance or covered porch, where the dark border can echo black door furniture, exterior lighting or nearby planters for a quietly coordinated look.

Handwoven by artisans from 100% natural coir, the Harford doormat combines straightforward design with a durable, practical surface. Fade-resistant dyes penetrate the fibres to help maintain the contrasting border, while natural variations in texture, colour and appearance reflect the handcrafted material rather than imperfections. To keep the mat looking its best, regularly shake or brush away loose dirt and naturally shed fibres. Protect it from excessive moisture and scratching by pets or birds, and dry it promptly and thoroughly if it becomes wet.

About Coir

Coir is a natural fibre obtained from the outer husk of coconuts. Its firm, coarse texture gives it excellent shoe-scraping properties, making it a practical material for entrance mats.

Coir Doormat Care

Position the doormat in a sheltered entrance and protect it from excessive moisture.
If the mat becomes wet, dry promptly and thoroughly.
Regularly shake or brush away loose dirt and naturally shed fibres.
Protect the coir fibres from scratching by pets and birds, as this can cause damage and excessive shedding.
