Tall Fleur de Lys Door Stop + Wedge

The Tall Cast Iron Fleur de Lys Door Stop & Wedge brings decorative character to a practical household essential. Its sculptural fleur-de-lis front, fluted domed base and deep brown cast iron finish give it the presence of a traditional architectural detail rather than an ordinary door accessory. A long upright handle completes the design, making the wedge easier to position and retrieve while adding graceful height beside the door.

Use it to hold an interior door open in an entryway, hallway, study or living area where its ornate form can become part of the room. The wedge projects from the back of the decorative base and slides beneath the door, while the substantial cast iron construction and approximate 1.7 kg weight help create a reassuring sense of stability. Its dark neutral tone pairs naturally with wood floors, classic wall panelling, antique furniture and black or deep-toned doors. The fleur-de-lis motif makes it particularly suited to French country, French provincial and traditional European interiors.

Measuring approximately 57 cm tall, 15 cm wide and 11 cm deep, this is a tall, narrow design that remains visually distinctive without taking up unnecessary floor space. The raised scrollwork and ribbed detailing give the cast surface depth and definition, while the long handle helps reduce the need to reach down each time the door is adjusted. Minor assembly is required before use. Once in place, it offers an appealing balance of function and ornament, turning a frequently overlooked detail into a considered finishing touch. It also makes a thoughtful housewarming gift for someone who appreciates enduring materials, traditional motifs and useful homewares with a sense of history.
